People may turn to homeopathic medicine who are suffering from virtually any condition which is having an effect on their health and general sense of well-being, (physical, mental or emotional). Common reasons for people to turn to homeopathy is because they are suffering from a long-term chronic condition which has not responded to conventional medicine or because they are experiencing unpleasant side effects from conventional medication.

Homeopathy is widely recognised as being a gentle and non-invasive form of treatment which seeks to stimulates the body's capacity for self-healing.

Homeopathic medicine was discovered by Dr Samuel Hahnemann, German Physician in 1796 and is practiced widely throughout the world. Homeopathic remedies are non-addictive, derived from natural sources, and can safely be used at any age (from birth, in pregnancy and in old age) and can be taken at the same time as conventional medication.

the homeopathic consultation

I offer a safe, non-judgmental environment in which to explore your symptoms. Working on the homeopathic principle of "like cures like" homeopathic prescriptions are individually tailored to your specific needs, having explored exactly how your symptoms affect you based on the fact that every person's experience of a specific condition is different.

Using a holistic approach the homeopathic consultation and treatment differs from conventional medicine in that rather than focussing on a specific named disease/diagnosis all factors which have the potential to impact on health are taken into account, (lifestyle, environmental influences, stress factors, diet, medical history, sleep patterns, etc). The prescribed remedy is individually tailored to match as closely as possible all the symptoms you are suffering from, (eg if you are suffering from both asthma and eczema, and your symptoms are worse at a specific time of day or month of the year I will endeavour to try to find the closest remedy which incorporates all these factors).

Your initial appointment is likely to last approximately one and a half to two hours which allows time and space to explore fully the symptoms that have brought you to my clinic. Subsequent appointments are likely to last approximately 30 - 45 minutes. Appointments must be booked in advance by telephone or email.

the homeopathic prescription

The homeopathic medicine prescribed has been prepared by regulated homeopathic pharmacies. They are created from natural substances and prepared using only the minimal amount of the original active ingredient which undergoes a process known as potentisation. They are non-addictive and when prescribed by a professional homeopath can safely be used at any stage in life and in conjunction with prescribed medication. They are easy to take, usually prescribed in the form of tiny sugar pills or soft disolving pills, or sometimes in liquid form.

In normal circumstances the price of the homeopathic remedy is included within the cost of your consultation. The exception to this is if you require Bach flower remedies, homeopathic ointments, creams or tissue salts or if you require a daily prescription over a prolonged length of time.

about Jacquie

Jacquie has a special interest in supporting people through stressful and traumatic times in their lives which may impact on health and express itself in physical, mental and emotional symptoms of anxiety; depression; digestive disorders; fatigue; irritable bowel syndrome; insomnia, etc. She has patient testimonials available on request.

To graduate as a professional qualified homeopath she has undertaken 4 years of study at the British School of Homeopathy. Jacquie has undertaken a placement at the Step by Step low cost homeopathic clinic in Bristol where she gained experience in the homeopathic treatment of people with a diversity of conditions including low self esteem, grief, post traumatic stress and anxiety and depression. In addition to her studies at the British School of Homeopathy she has a special interest in and attended seminars on homeopathy and mental illness; depression and tissue/cell salts.

She attends as many training courses and CPD events as possible to keep herself up to date with current practice and further her learning. She has invested in Radar Opus computer programme (a vast database of homeopathic information) to assist in her research when formulating a treatment plan for her patients.
She is registered to practice and insured with the Society of Homeopaths(RSHom) and adhere to their Code of Ethics.

When the opportunity arose to study homeopathic medicine Jacquie was absolutely delighted, having always been attracted to wildlife and nature and interested in a natural approach to healing. She has personally been treated successfully with homeopathy at various times throughout her life and felt intrigued and keen to find out more about this system of medicine and become a homeopathic practitioner.
Having observed the benefits of using flower essences on her family and animals for many years, to further her knowledge of their use and how they can compliment the homeopathic prescription she has undertaken Bach Flower for Homeopaths training.

Friends and colleagues describe her as being calm, well-grounded, open minded, genuine and sincere. She is a proud mother and grandmother and in her spare time enjoys spending time with her family and menagerie of animals; exploring the countryside on horseback or the coastline by boat.

She has been employed by the NHS for over 27 years where she works as a part-time medical secretary. Prior to studying homeopathy she obtained an Open University qualification in Health and Social Care.

Being employed within the NHS she is well aware of the benefits of working alongside conventional medicine and support patients who are wanting to reduce/withdraw from prescribed medication where it is appropriate to do so and if the medical practitioner is in agreement.
